“Tango” has sold and is on its way to OH! I’m so grateful to all those that show up and purchase my work. Collectors are at the core of what we do as artists. When you purchase artwork from an artist, not only are you supporting the individual artist but also the whole artistic community around them. Thank you!

"Dutch Delight" recently found a new home! This painting is a tribute to my adopted homeland - the Netherlands. I spent a lot of time traveling and studying in the Netherlands during my undergraduate years. I eventually moved there for graduate school. It's where I met my Dutch husband. Though we ended up returning to the US and building a life here, we're frequently in the Holland. My work often reflects great Dutch painters and the time I spent there.

Dutch Delight | Oil on Linen | 12 x 16 My freshman year of college I met two Dutch exchange students on campus and we became best of friends. Little did I know how those friendships would alter my life…that I would travel to Holland from my tiny Midwestern town, move there, get an MA from a Dutch university, marry a Dutchman and years later eventually land in Minnesota. The Netherlands has become my “adopted homeland” and its beauty and rich culture is often reflected in my work.

With the unusually cold temps recently, it’s such a joy to sit in my studio and create an eternal garden. I continue to work on this large canvas of peonies. They were stunning blooms, worthy of their own piece of art. Here is the painting at the underpainting stage - about half done. Everything is there to see but hasn’t quite yet been refined. I’ll take a second, finishing pass on this piece - where all the magic happens! Can’t wait to finish this one.
